Engine and Accessories

The engine is a 5L Ford, rebuilt with a stroker kit to bring it out to 350 cubic inches. The engine is balanced, has 10:1 pistons, a mild cam and Holley Systemax aluminium heads with roller rockers. Intake is a stack injection setup to resemble a GT40. Engine Management is by way of an Autronic SM4. Transmission is a Ford BTR 95LE from the donor NC Fairlane Ghia which has been completely rebuilt. The original factory controller is used. The engine had to be moved closer to the right hand chassis rail to accommodate all the accessories. The cooling system is from the donor Fairlane, a closed system with twin electric fans. After all the setting up, the factory radiator was replaced with an aluminium unit and a new air con condenser was fitted.
